SHOOTING WITH LIQUIDS | FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

I went to the thrift store the other day and found a fish tank so I decided to do a few experimental creative projects using it in various ways in the studio!

I’ve seen other photographers create really cool work with mixing different substances in water like oil, dye, or paint and I’ve always wanted to try for myself. I already had some vegetable oil and acrylic paint around the house so I used the fish tank in different ways to photograph them mixing with water.

I’ve also seen some amazing product photography utilizing water and wanted to give that a try so I grabbed a can of Waterloo sparkling water and did my best by myself to get some action shots of it splashing!

I’m really glad I took the time to play around in the studio because I ended up with some images that I really LOVE and plan on printing/framing large scale! If you are interested in any prints of the paint or oil in water shots, click here.
