CHAPPELL ROAN INSPIRED COLLAB SHOOT | CREATIVE BEAUTY PHOTOGRAPHY
I have yet to see Chappell Roan live yet, but I LOVE her artistry and everything about her aesthetic!
Ashley Stephens, a local makeup artist here in the Baton Rouge/NOLA area, asked if I’d want to do a collab shoot with her so she could try some Chappell inspired makeup on somebody. I was like heck yeah and knew this would be a great opportunity for me to play with different lighting and creative techniques! We got Harlee Brianna on board to model, and Kasey Smith to style her hair (this wig is EVERYTHING and why does Harlee low key look just like Chappell??)
This shoot was so fun! I had been wanting to try the ol’ pantyhose over the lens trick for some time and the results did not disappoint- the nostalgic hazy look was perfect for the creative direction of this shoot.
I also played with two different prisms and combined them with and without the pantyhose for different effects: the Motion Blur Bilateral 82mm Fx Prism, created a streaky ghost efect and the 8-Sided Kaleidoscope Glass Prism created the fractal, radial look.
