A couple of weeks ago I got to work with the BADDEST babe, Molly Taylor. She's a singer/songwriter in the Baton Rouge area (who also makes really amazing jewelry out of wood!!!) that has the coolest style, and when she approached me with her ideas for a promo shoot it was obvious we were on the same page visually, and in life in general.
We photographed in this amazing space "Wayne's Barber Shop" because Molly had passed by a few times and noticed the retro decor. Molly called them to see if we could possibly shoot in their space, and little did we know they were about to completely renovate the whole place! So we basically shot the next morning at 8AM and made it happen while the interior was still untouched from the 70's. I loved Molly's vision for this shoot, and we actually had some creative direction from the woman who owns the salon too (shout out to Tasha Daigle for having experience with photo shoots and thanks for all of your help!)
I am obsessed with how these turned out. I feel like this is my perfect happy place between a fashion shoot, a musician promo shoot, and a portrait session. Everything was so perfect, and I got to have some creative freedom with the editing to make them feel extra groovy.
Speaking of groovy, I recently started a lifestyle blog Groove Slang which focuses on art/music/style/life. I am hoping to showcase some of these shots alongside a Q&A with Molly (and hopefully other amazing artists/musicians/individuals) in the future! In the meantime, you can get super excited for her new album that's coming out this October!
