LilWeezyAna Fest / New Orleans / Music / by Jordan Hefler

LilWeezyAna Fest, this year boasting acts "Collegrove" (Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz) Yo Gotti, Migos, and special guests Mystikal, PNC, and Chris Brown, had an unbelievable turnout at Champions Square for its second year in New Orleans, LA. After an afternoon of heavy rain, the weather threatened to complicate the fest, but rain held out to see Lil Wayne return to his hometown of NOLA and deliver a high-energy performance. Busting onto the scene with older crowd favorites such as "Go DJ" "Sky's the Limit" and even performing "Duffel Bag Boy" on stage with 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne performed everything full-out with contagious enthusiasm and a huge grin on his face.

I had the time of my life photographing this show (all the other photographers seemed to be like "Who's Migos? Who's Yo Gotti? And I'm like ermmm everyone playing tonight is my Turn Up playlist on Spotify...) I'm not sure how professional it was of me to rap all the words to "Duffel Bag Boy" and "Crack" into my camera but whatever I'M DIFFERENT YEAYUH I'M DIFFERENT.

The lighting production was incredible. Although I will say I was cracking up at the "Collegrove" graphic that was on all the screens on the stage... someone needs to fire their graphic designer because it obviously wasn't properly sized for the screen and looked ridiculous. But that's enough of me being critical lol. Everything was great, the weather held out, and I now have some of my most favorite images to add to my portfolio. It was my pleasure to cover the night for Stitched Sound. I'd like to think these are some of my most impressive yet! Fingers crossed that I get to photograph Drake & Future this Friday (because it'll be my birthday and that will be the coolest birthday gift EVER.)
