Creative Relief Fund / Portrait Fundraiser For Flood Recovery / by Jordan Hefler

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS, VISUAL ARTISTS, PERFORMING ARTISTS, AND BANDS!

I am excited to announce that I'm teaming up with Jenn Ocken Photography and The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge to provide head shots/promo photos as a fundraiser for recovery from the recent detrimental flooding in the Baton Rouge area!

With devastating flooding having swept through South Louisiana, thousands of families, individuals, have lost their homes and belongings. Artists, in particular, have been personally and professionally devastated. With significant lost to property, artists in our area are without spaces to rehearse, work, and perform, and have lost dance shoes, musical instruments, canvases, paint, and many other supplies and equipment.

Through Creative Relief, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge identifies artists who have lost or incurred damage to address their needs and provide replacement materials. Financial contributions to Creative Relief help artists with immediate assistance in their time of need, and as they rebuild in the affected area.

This fundraiser will be held on Sunday, September 11th at the Jenn Ocken Photography office at 7384 Highland Rd in Baton Rouge.

Jenn Ocken and I will be separately scheduling portrait sessions with artists in 15 minute intervals throughout the day. Jenn will be available to schedule pretty much all day from 7AM-8PM, and I will be scheduling sessions from 3-7PM. Each 15 minute interval is billed at $25 each, and 100% of the money received for the sessions will be donated back to the Arts Council's Creative Relief Efforts, making it 100% tax deductible for you!

WHAT DO YOU GET WITH YOUR 15 MINUTE SESSION?

There are several different locations for portraits in and around the JOP office on Highland Rd, such as a small bayou out back, oak trees, a breezeway with white walls, the Yoga Bliss indoor studio, brick walls outdoors, and an overgrown field next door. There are two bathrooms and an air conditioned office to get ready/hang out before your time slot.

You will receive printable and promotional usage rights from your session and the ability to download high resolution files from an online gallery. The sessions are open to creative artists of all types, such as chefs, instructors/teachers of all types, small business owners, stylists, bloggers, musicians, painters, sculptors, photographers, actors/actresses, dancers, muralists, cinematographers, etc.

There will be a 3 week turnaround for editing purposes. You can make checks out to The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, or bring cash and we will provide you with a receipt. Don't forget your session is tax deductible! More information on how to schedule is below.

MEET YOUR PHOTOGS

Jenn is a long time music photographer who recently released a book in 2015 about the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN. I used to intern for her in college and I worked for her photography business for a year after I graduated, where I learned a lot about the photography industry. You can read more information about both of us by clicking on our logos below, and Jenn's music images can be found at www.documentingBlues.com

We are both excited to be donating our services to the flood recovery efforts in the area! Jess at the JOP office will be handling all scheduling, so contact her at (225-590-3731) to schedule your portrait session with the photographer of your choice, or click below to shoot her an email.
